Technician II, Compliance Lab

Compliance Lab Technician II typically includes responsibilities related to supporting engineering teams by conducting tests, maintaining lab equipment, collecting data, and assisting with prototype development.

Essential Job Functions

• Execute complex test procedures on materials, components, systems, or prototypes with minimal supervision.

• Design and build custom test setups or fixtures in support of engineering requirements.

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing or prototyping phases.

• Analyze test data, identify trends or anomalies, and prepare technical reports for engineering teams.

• Support engineering change processes and participate in root cause analysis and failure investigations.

• Maintain and calibrate advanced lab equipment; oversee lab safety and compliance.

• Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing engineers to refine products or test methods.

• Suggest and implement improvements in test procedures and lab operations.

• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations.

• Ensure test equipment is maintained and calibrated by the schedule.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and manufacturing.

• Work on teams to design testing equipment to meet engineering or production testing requirements.

• Work independently to machine, fabricate, assemble, and troubleshoot testing fixtures.

• Performs preventative maintenance on production and lab test equipment. This activity could include modifying existing test stands to improve process efficiency, replacing wear components, or calibration of equipment.

• Install and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water, and drainage systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Associate's degree in engineering technology, electronics, mechanical, or a related field (Bachelor's degree may be preferred for some employers).

• 2+ years of relevant lab technician or technical support experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of lab instrumentation and engineering tools.

• Familiarity with mechanical and/or electrical testing methods.

• Proficiency in using software tools for data entry, analysis (e.g., Excel, LabVIEW).

• Good communication and technical documentation skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.

• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
