Senior Fraud Analyst

Q2 is seeking a Senior Fraud Analyst responsible for identifying, investigating, and preventing fraudulent activities across our platforms. The role collaborates closely with fraud, risk, and product teams to educate stakeholders on card fraud management best practices and consult on fraud management processes and capabilities. The analyst monitors financial activities, examines transaction and customer data to detect anomalous patterns, reports suspicious activity, and develops strategies to mitigate future fraud risks.

Responsibilities
  • Provide subject‑matter expertise for card‑based risk and fraud prevention activities.
  • Write fraud rules, coordinate with card payment partners to implement rules, and consult stakeholders on effective rule writing.
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on card fraud management best practices and the use of partner fraud tools.
  • Evaluate existing and potential tools and processes to enhance detection/prevention, monitor strategy performance, and report overall fraud losses.
  • Reconcile key performance and risk metrics and summarize stakeholder performance for executives and partners.
  • Drive reductions in fraud losses by developing effective model management, analytics, and reporting in collaboration with partners and vendors.
  • Own documentation of fraud products and strategies implemented for stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Research industry and technology trends, review professional publications within supported vertical markets, and identify new best practices.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in card product management, card processing, or card risk management with a bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Engineering, CS, or a related field; or an advanced degree with 6 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred experience with card risk management systems, especially Visa and Visa DPS risk tools.
  • Preferred experience in risk management or financial services, card payment processing, or fintech.
  • Strong teamwork, organization, and problem‑resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong process‑management capabilities with demonstrated ability to manage fraud on card programs at scale.
  • Self‑starter with proven ability to deliver results with minimal assistance.
  • Highly determined and driven, with a clear track record of achievement.
  • Detail oriented with a focus on data analysis.
  • Effective communicator able to align internal and external stakeholders.

  • Fluent written and oral communication in English.
