What you will do in this roleThis role will work closely with the CFO and Sr Director Finance to prepare presentations highlighting company performance. The Senior Financial Analyst will understand financial and non-financial metrics that underscore company performance. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing analyses, and taking a significant role in the annual budgeting process, including current year monthly projections. The role coordinates and organizes the Annual 5-Year Plan.
The candidate should have a strong general finance and accounting background, preferably with public consulting or accounting experience. The role requires the ability to understand data, trends, and financials and present ideas clearly and creatively. The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Sr. Director, Finance.
- Partner directly with the CFO to prepare monthly, company-wide financial presentations, including analysis of performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Translate complex financial data into a narrative that explains performance, trends, and forward-looking expectations.
- Support the annual budgeting process, including gathering assumptions, validating inputs, building financial models, and preparing presentations for company-wide rollout.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather budget inputs and ensure proper support and documentation around assumptions.
- Assist in preparing bank-facing budget decks that articulate assumptions, trends, and financial strategy.
- Provide visibility into revenue performance and identify variances against targets; meet with the sales team to track progress toward quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Track key performance indicators and provide deep-dive analysis on financial performance, including margin trends, cost drivers, and operational KPIs such as volume metrics.
- Serve as a member of the Data Analytics Team to improve visibility into financial and operational metrics.
- Collaborate with teams across finance, accounting, sales, operations, pricing and rebates, and other departments to support projects, validate data, and ensure alignment.
- Build slides, dashboards, and reports that enhance decision-making and communication of financial insights.
- Apply accounting principles to interpret financial results and visualize trends across revenue, expenses, margins, and cash flow.
- Identify anomalies or emerging patterns in financial data and communicate insights to leadership.
- Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses as requested.
- Assist Finance team with ad-hoc requests and day-to-day operational support as needed.
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of four years of relevant work experience in accounting, FP&A, or related fields; experience in chemical manufacturing preferred but not required
- CPA license preferred but not required
- Public consulting experience desirable
- Advanced MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups) and MS PowerPoint (charts, graphs)
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze, simplify, and communicate data
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics AX, Oracle, SAP)
- Excellent interpersonal and proactive communication skills with strong initiative and balanced judgment
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Adaptable and entrepreneurial with a background in a dynamic, fast-moving business environment
- Ability to work effectively across diverse, cross-functional teams under tight timelines
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
