Budget Analyst – Mid Level

We are looking for an experienced Budget Analyst / Budget Operations & Contract Monitoring Analyst to support budget operations, financial reporting, contract monitoring, and fund utilization activities.

• Prepare, review, and process journal vouchers across state and federal funding sources.
• Monitor contract spend against authorized budgets and prepare utilization, variance, and projected-spend reports.
• Track fund utilization across state and federal funding sources.
• Prepare and process budget revisions with appropriate documentation and audit trails.
• Support financial reconciliation and respond to budget/contract-related questions.
• Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting recurring deadlines.
• Prepare clear financial reports and communicate findings to program and finance teams.

• 3+ years of experience in budget analysis, accounting, or financial reporting.
• 3+ years monitoring contract spend across multiple contracts.
• 3+ years tracking fund utilization across state and federal sources.
• Experience managing multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project Suite, MS Teams, Zoom, spreadsheets, and financial systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high volume of financial transactions.

• 3+ years of State Government/Public Sector experience, particularly with Health & Human Services programs.
• Experience with Medicaid / Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) or similar healthcare government programs.
• Experience with government fund accounting and budget revision processes.
