The mission of North Carolina Emergency Management is to enhance North Carolina's resiliency through active collaboration, communication, and coordination of protection, prevention, mitigation, response and recovery measures.

The mission of the Central Branch Office is to assist local governments within the Central Branch with with preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities on a day-to-day basis and during emergencies, incidents, and events.

The primary duty of the Multi-Hazards Field Planner (MHFP) is to provide expertise and guidance to various stakeholders on emergency management and hazard planning. Expertise includes assistance with grants, advising the Domestic Preparedness Region Executive Directors on grants and execution, participation in Local Emergency Planning Committees, emergency operations planning, exercise and training funding and availability, hazard mitigation assistance, disaster recovery and debris management assistance for local governments, Emergency Management Performance Grant planning and compliance, and Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) support to local emergency managers.

MHFP's will be responsible for participating in other local and state preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities as necessary.

Recruitment Range: $57,983 - $65,000

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits , including paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays, retirement, and health insurance.
