This temporary position is located in Smithfield, NC – Johnston County. The Early Intervention Service Coordinator duties include working with families and providers to develop Functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, conducting home visits, coordinating services, and facilitating transition planning. Candidates will also participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services.
Responsibilities- Develop and write individualized family service plans (IFSPs).
- Conduct home visits and coordinate early intervention services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine families’ needs and provide support.
- Assist in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services.
- Establish rapport and collaborate with clients, families, community agencies, and service disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a human services field from an accredited institution and two years of professional experience working with the population served; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of early childhood developmental disabilities and infant mental health, including assessments and comprehensive treatment plans.
- Skill in developing and writing individualized family service plans.
- Ability to evaluate and document child progress and adjust plans as needed.
- Ability to coordinate and instruct staff, family members, and care providers in developmental disabilities and infant and child mental health methods.
- Ability to manage time independently and develop methods of organization to facilitate compliance with timelines and documentation requirements.
