Private Dining Manager

Craft Public House is seeking an energetic, organized, and hospitality-driven Private Dining Manager to oversee every aspect of our private event business. This position is responsible for generating new business, coordinating event details, and flawlessly executing both on-site private dining events and off-site catering events while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Private Dining Manager will work closely with the culinary team, management, and event clients to ensure every event exceeds expectations.

This position requires 50 hours per week onsite and includes nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Essential Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new private dining and catering business through community outreach, networking, referrals, and relationship building.
  • Respond promptly to all event inquiries via phone, email, social media, and website submissions.
  • Conduct tours and consultations with prospective clients.
  • Prepare proposals, contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), and invoices.
  • Maintain strong relationships with repeat clients and local businesses.
  • Identify opportunities to increase catering and private event revenue.

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Guide clients through the planning process from initial inquiry through event completion.
  • Coordinate menus, room layouts, timelines, beverage selections, rentals, and special requests.
  • Communicate event details clearly with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for every event.
  • Ensure all deposits and final payments are collected according to company policies.

Event Execution

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during private dining and off-site catering events.
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown.
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, timing, and service standards are consistently met.
  • Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Lead event staff to ensure seamless execution and outstanding hospitality.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized event calendar.
  • Track leads, bookings, sales, and event performance.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives promoting private dining and catering services.
  • Maintain accurate client records and event documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of restaurant, catering, or event management experience
  • Previous hospitality sales experience required
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to drive a company catering van
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with event setup and breakdown
Schedule Requirements
  • Full-Time (50 hours per week)
  • Onsite position
  • Flexible availability required
  • Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required based on event schedule
  • Occasional early mornings for catering setup
  • Extended hours may be required during peak event seasons
