Job Description
The Integration group provides technological support to the mainframe, midrange and server community. The team is responsible for assisting employees and customers with the integration of data between various platforms using vendor and in-house software, including IBM MQ. Candidates will work standard daytime hours 8 am ET – 5 pm ET weekdays and provide on‑call support on weekends and off hours. Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, are a must due to the constant interaction with customers.
U.S. based onshore is required for this position. Travel may be required for training and disaster recovery.
- Will serve as an IBM MQ Administrator
- Responsible for the monitoring, maintenance, and customization of MQ systems.
- Responsible for evaluation, installation, and migration of new versions of MQ software.
- Analyze and tune MQ performance.
- Perform MQ problem analysis and provide technical assistance.
- Develop process and procedures related to MQ’s security, administration, recovery, chargeback, and automation.
- Work with application teams to implement messaging solutions to support Enterprise Messaging architecture.
- Create and provide daily status reports to the Systems Integration team.
- Experience (3 or more years) in administration, maintenance, and integration including Installation and Configuration of IBM Web Sphere MQ version 7 and higher.
- Application coding experience with IBM MQ (JCL, COBOL, JAVA, JAVA/JMS, C/C++); including debugging.
- Experience with IBM Web Sphere CICS adapter.
- Experience with IBM Web Sphere MQI for connecting to MQ objects.
- Experience with message security architecture.
- Ability to administer queue managers and associated MQ objects such as queues (local, remote, alias & model), process definitions, channels, listeners).
- Workstation skills include Windows OS, MS Word, Excel and Remote Administration.
- Ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels of the company, customer, and user organizations, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be willing to take part in 24/7 on‑call rotation.
- Ability to travel overnight as needed to other company offices.
- Ability to multi‑task effectively on a variety of projects, tasks, and assignments.
- Take charge attitude and take ownership of providing a solution end to end.
- Experience working with different technical divisions such as mainframe, distributed systems & networks.
- Web Sphere MQ Certified Specialist.
- Web Sphere MQ versions 9.x/8.x troubleshooting & support.
- General administration knowledge of various UNIX, Linux and Windows Operating systems. Experience with shell scripting/Perl a plus.
- General knowledge of TCP/IP networking. Experience with F5 BIG‑IP and iRule programming a plus.
- Practical experience working in a Microsoft Azure environment.
- XML, C/C++ programming experience.
- JAVA and JAVA/JMS programming experience.
- z/OS COBOL programming (building trigger monitors, alerts, & processing dead letter queues).

For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. The estimated salary range for this role is $90,000 – $103,000.
