Senior Architect, Open Shift App Platform
At Red Hat, the Consulting team seeks a senior architect with a deep technical, strategic, and business leadership in modern application platforms. The role involves designing and guiding the implementation of complex solutions that help customers modernize their software delivery, working directly with customer architecture, development, and operations teams.
Responsibilities- Architect and Design:
Lead the design of complex, production‑grade solutions based on Red Hat Open Shift, focusing on Internal Developer Platforms (e.g., Red Hat Developer Hub/Backstage), CI/CD modernization, and AI‑assisted workflows. - Customer Engagement:
Conduct technical discovery sessions and workshops to identify customer challenges and demonstrate the value of Red Hat’s portfolio; build strategic relationships and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders. - Technical Leadership:
Guide customer and internal teams through design, pilot, and production deployments, serving as a subject‑matter expert on Platform Engineering and AI‑Assisted Application Modernization. - Problem Solving:
Work with customers to identify and remove blockers to modern software delivery practices, collaborating on technical and business requirements. - Collaboration:
Partner with Red Hat’s product, engineering, professional services, and sales teams to ensure a world‑class customer experience. - Thought Leadership:
Develop and share best‑practice assets, reusable architectural patterns, whitepapers, webinars, and speak at industry conferences. - Travel:
Willingness to travel to customer locations regularly.
- 10+ years of experience in a senior technology role such as enterprise architecture, consulting, or sales engineering, focused on large‑scale infrastructure solutions and platform adoption.
- Extensive knowledge and hands‑on experience building and managing Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), optimizing developer workflows, and streamlining the path to production.
- Direct, practical experience with AI‑assisted coding assistants and integrating large‑language models or AI services into enterprise software delivery.
- Significant experience with Kubernetes and container platforms in large organizations, preferably with Red Hat Open Shift.
- Deep understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines, Git Ops methodologies (e.g., ArgoCD, Tekton), microservices architectures, and Linux operating systems (RHEL or derivatives).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem‑solving skills; ability to build long‑lasting relationships with customers.
- Experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is a plus.
- Relevant Red Hat certifications (e.g., RHCA, RHCE) and experience with one or more public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) are desirable.
