We are seeking an experienced Service Now Architect to lead the strategic design, governance, and implementation of enterprise Service Now solutions. This role will be responsible for defining platform architecture, establishing technical standards, and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing Service Now environments that align with organizational objectives.
The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, leadership teams, and platform administrators to deliver enterprise-wide Service Now capabilities while driving best practices in architecture, governance, security, and platform optimization.
Responsibilities- Define and maintain the overall Service Now platform architecture aligned with business goals and industry best practices.
- Lead solution architecture and platform strategy for enterprise Service Now implementations and modernization initiatives.
- Establish architectural standards, governance models, development policies, and platform design guidelines.
- Design scalable and secure Service Now solutions across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and related modules.
- Provide architectural oversight for integrations with third-party systems using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and MID Servers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solution architectures.
- Guide platform scalability, performance optimization, security controls, and compliance initiatives.
- Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical leadership across Service Now initiatives.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise security standards, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices.
- Support platform roadmap planning, upgrade strategies, and long-term governance initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex platform and integration issues while providing strategic recommendations.
- Create and maintain architecture documentation, technical roadmaps, implementation plans, and solution diagrams.
- Communicate technical concepts and architectural recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience supporting state, local, or federal government organizations.
- Experience working in FedRAMP-authorized or similarly regulated cloud environments.
- ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale Service Now platform transformations and modernization programs.
- Service Now Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Master Architect (CMA).
- Security+ or similar cybersecurity certification.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – ITSM or ITOM preferred
- Service Now Certified Technical Architect (CTA) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 8 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Service Now architecture experience in enterprise environments.
- Expert-level knowledge of Service Now platform architecture, governance, and administration.
- Strong experience designing enterprise Service Now solutions across ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
- Experience architect integrations using REST APIs, SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and MID Servers.
- Strong understanding of platform scalability, security, compliance, and governance best practices.
- Experience working in highly regulated, secure, or government environments.
- Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies and related tools such as Jira, Azure Dev Ops, or Service Now Agile Development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and executive-level conversations.
- Ability to work onsite five days per week in Columbus, Ohio.
