Business Analyst II
Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities. Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
Translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications. Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business. Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.
May make recommendations for buy versus build decision. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related fields. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has 5 to 10 years of relevant technical or business work experience. Must work full time/onsite in Cary, NC office. Working remotely is not an option.
- Work self-directed and independently; will function as the subject matter expert
- Coordinates interface between programmers and users to facilitate data gathering and validation steps.
- Act as a business analyst to document processes for creating and consuming multiple sources of indicators for detecting possible fraud / inappropriate access attempts.
- Build critical working relationships with the business and users communities to support data gathering and validation processes.
- Documentation of existing processes with the end goal of improving the quality of incident response services
- Prepares detailed flow-charts, diagrams, and specifications.
- Lead the development and maintenance of incident response standards, processes, and guidelines.
- Develop and document processes to ensure consistent and scalable response operations.
- Additional project and process improvements as needed.
- Work with the solution leads to define data needs required to capture, consolidate and evaluate potential incidents within key applications and systems.
- Elicit, analyze, validate data flows.
- Develop and verify data mappings to support incident reporting requirements.
- Review of incident data to ensure the completeness and quality of the information collected
