Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization's systems and capabilities. Analyzes business partner's operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology.
Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications. Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business. Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise's competitive edge.
May make recommendations for buy versus build decision. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has 5 to 10 years of relevant technical or business work experience.
Portfolio Coordinator Client's Global Technology Services (GTS), Enterprise Infrastructure and Security Portfolio Management team is growing and requires a Portfolio Coordinator to support portfolio planning, financial coordination, and administration for multiple IT Domains, including:
Engineering, Service Operations, Global Infrastructure, Application Support & Maintenance, IT Risk and Security, Enterprise Architecture, and Corporate Real Estate. The ideal candidate for this position will manage portfolio pipeline planning and Project Approval Request (PAR) key information and administer critical information for senior leadership, key stakeholders, and Program and Project Managers. They will enter and maintain the integrity of key system data elements.
The person in this role will understand functional usage, team interactions, and business processes related to the PAR systems. Will coordinate portfolio management activities and provide support to users. They will provide status of projects and items in the project approval process, and help manage project change requests. As a portfolio and PMO team member, they will coordinate key portfolio processes and administer change and communications required for managing effective leadership and stakeholder expectations and business outcomes.
- Portfolio Coordination
- Support Annual Planning and Portfolio "Reinvest" Coordination
- Administer set up and track all approved GTS EI PARs for labor, direct expense, and other expense codes to improve project accounting budget, actuals, and forecast capabilities
- Work with IT Domain sponsors, Portfolio Managers, and Financial Consultants to support portfolio PAR administration, support, and consulting
- Create and refresh PMO job aids to reduce rework and duplication, reduce time for PAR administration, and simplify access to key portfolio and project materials
- Support Portfolio Managers with Portfolio Management data entries and updates required for infrastructure and architecture programs and projects.
- Administer key portfolio reports for IT domain stakeholders and leadership, and expand reporting features
- Assist Non-Project Renewal /Deal tracking and assist with improving Renewal reporting capabilities
- Schedule Business Sponsor portfolio planning intake meetings
- Shadow executive approval processes in leadership forums and PAR reviews
- Organize/Streamline PAR approval workflows and communications
- Update and maintain specified Finance and PPM teams project-related report
Key Competencies & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field
- 3+ years in a Financial Analyst, Portfolio Coordinator, or related experiences
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of GAAP
- Ability to execute effective change management and communications
- Ability to collaborate effectively and transparently and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail as well as simplifying portfolio data for data-driven decision making
- Understanding of portfolio, program, and project management and agile methodologies
