Role Overview

As an IT Project Manager at Black & Veatch, you'll lead the execution of technical project investments, overseeing multiple projects at once, and ensuring successful delivery within established scope, quality specifications, and time and cost constraints. You'll facilitate discovery sessions to bring clarity and definition to ambiguous activities, and communicate with sponsors and end users to set and ensure project goals align with business objectives.

Your main responsibilities will include analyzing project proposals, determining project planning and tracking methodology, communicating with sponsors and end users, assigning duties and responsibilities to project personnel, creating project work breakdown structures, and driving detail discovery and articulation through rigorous questioning and other structured techniques.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, project management, or general business management
  • Eight or more years of IT experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving
  • A minimum of five years of demonstrated competency in a assistant project management role or project management role involving the execution of multiple projects or a large project
  • Three or more years of Business Unit or Business Unit-facing experience, with sensitivity and commitment to business problem solving
  • Experience in leading a team, leading through influence vs. authority, and effectively using 'soft skills' or 'people skills'
