Weekend Day Porter - Cary Regional Library

Join the Cary Regional Library as a weekend day porter, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors and staff. This role supports our library operations during Saturday and Sunday hours.

Pay: $15.00 per hour.
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

• Perform routine cleaning of office areas, lounges, restrooms, corridors, stairways, and other building spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain cleanliness of floors and surfaces.
• Dust furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, and related furnishings using appropriate safety equipment.
• Empty waste receptacles and properly dispose of trash, recycling, and hazardous bio‑waste.
• Replenish restroom supplies and disinfect lavatories, lockers, and restrooms.
• Maintain a clean custodial closet and keep hallways and pathways free of debris and equipment.
• Report safety hazards, structural concerns, and maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Wear company uniform, badge, safety shoes and observe all PPE and safety procedures.
• Assist with related duties as assigned by management.

• Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high standards of service.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment, and to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to follow safety regulations.
