Position Overview

As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating an automatic stamping press to produce quality components while maintaining safety, efficiency, and LEAN production goals. This position follows the weekend shift schedule:
Thursday 6:00am–10:00am and Friday–Sunday 6:00am–6:30pm. Overtime, including additional days, may be required based on business need.

Responsibilities (% of Time)
  • Operate automatic stamping presses as needed to support department and company goals – 70%
  • Use powered hand tools to make adjustments to equipment as necessary – 70%
  • Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements – 10%
  • Assist other associates with press set‑ups and changeovers – 10%
  • Perform quality inspections to blueprints and specifications using precision measuring tools and maintain a clean work environment to meet 6S standards – 10%
  • Count, package, and palletize finished product in accordance with work orders – 10%
  • Ensure auxiliary equipment is operating to standard – 10%
Desired Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • 1year related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Safety:
    Consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Accountability & Dependability:
    Demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.
  • Physical Demands:
    Remain standing the entire shift and lift up to 40lbs using proper technique.
  • Mathematical Reasoning:
    Apply basic math skills.
  • Instruction Comprehension:
    Understand a variety of instructions furnished in English, including written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule forms.
  • Communication:
    Communicate one‑on‑one and in small group settings.
  • Measurements:
    Read a tape measure to 1/32” tolerance, use a protractor to measure angles to +/- 1°, and read a micrometer and caliper.
  • Problem Solving:
    Identify options for solving problems encountered during the manufacturing process.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Use computer or touchscreen to perform daily tasks and required training.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk, and hear; occasionally required to sit.
  • Operate large equipment while standing for approximately 8–12hours, with regular twisting and bending in a repetitive motion.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50lbs, and occasionally heavier weights with proper equipment.
  • Exposure risks: heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
Work Status & Location

This full‑time, non‑exempt position is located in Columbus, OH. Relocation is not available for this position.

Compensation

$16.44 – $24.66 per hour + $3.50 shift differential.
