Job Type: Full Time | Days
Sign‑On Bonus: $15,000 for Day Shift with a 2‑year commitment for eligible candidates
Schedule: 4x10s or 5x8s + Days, call may be required

Overview

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an experienced RN to work in its operating room. The OR handles approximately 400 cases per month, covering a wide range of specialties including ENT, cataract and retinal eye surgeries, gynecologic, laparoscopic/endoscopic, orthopedic, plastic and reconstructive, pain management, and gastroenterological procedures, with most cases being general and orthopedic.

Operating Room Details

Procedures are performed Monday through Friday, with additional night, weekend, and holiday call rotations to maintain continuous coverage. The OR is equipped with six beds and a dedicated support team.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
  • Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient.
  • Perform timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for each patient.
  • Conduct timely and accurate quality improvement assessments.
Qualifications
  • Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently in a stressful environment.
