Your Impact as a Veterinary Assistant

Veterinary Assistants play an integral role in the care of patients, clients, and referring veterinarians  this role, you will work directly with board‑certified cardiologists to provide high‑level medical support, helping the doctor achieve greater efficiency by managing technical tasks, record keeping, and communication. You will play a significant role in educating clients about their pet's heart health, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout their visit.

Impact Will Include
  • Clinical Support:
    Assist veterinarians with exams, triage, surgery, and anesthesia monitoring, and perform venipuncture, administer oral medications, and take radiographs.
  • Cardiac Diagnostics:
    Perform specialized tasks such as obtaining ECGs and assisting with Holter monitoring set‑up and data collection.
  • Compassionate Care:
    Provide compassionate patient care, comforting animals who may be stressed, ill, or in pain, while maintaining a clean and organized facility.
  • Client Education & Service:
    Discharge patients, review treatment plans and follow‑up care with clients, and assist with client service operations like answering phones and scheduling appointments.
  • Operational Excellence:
    Accurately maintain medical records, prescriptions, and invoices using computer systems, and assist with training new teammates.
What You'll Bring To The Team
  • High school diploma or equivalent (must be at least 18 years old).
  • Veterinary assistant experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stay calm and efficient in emergencies and high‑stress situations.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Workspace) and excellent written/verbal communication.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Ability to lift and carry animals up to 40 lbs. Requires prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and physical activity.
