Quality Control Manager – Apex, NC
We are seeking a Quality Control Manager for our facility in Apex, NC that will provide Quality Management (QM) related services. In this role, you will be involved in daily operations to plan and execute QM operations, resolve complex issues to meet QM expectations, assist management with scheduling and budgets, and frequently work with construction crews on our job sites. You will be the main point of contact with internal and external individuals at all management levels and responsible for project QM successful outcomes.
Job Responsibilities / Accountabilities- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
- Manage inspector resources including third‑party and direct‑hire quality inspectors.
- Provide overall project‑wide oversight on quality and requirements compliance matters on QA/QC functions; monitor construction activities and review materials and equipment delivered to the project for adherence to specifications, coordinating lists, punch‑list items, observations and logs.
- Manage company risk and understand all aspects of contract documents.
- Manage code‑related welding projects such as ASME/AWS/IPC/AWWA/UPC.
- Work with pre‑construction, field supervision and other teams to ensure the project is set up to support the quality management needs of the program.
- Establish metrics to identify trends for inspections, non‑conformances root causes and corrective/preventive actions per the ISO 9001 Quality Standard.
- Ensure that quality is maintained on site in relation to all affected aspects of the project.
- Responsible for recognizing and implementing change orders as it relates to quality.
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, technicians, managers, and other project stakeholders to achieve project objectives, and support engineers, technicians, and other project managers across multiple disciplines.
- This is an individual contribution role. The incumbent will communicate with internal employees, third‑party companies, and the IT team at EMCOR.

- ASME, AWS, IPC, AWWA, UPC welding experience.

- Minimum 15 years' experience in the construction industry with a contractor engaged in general building construction.
- Prior experience with welding, including certification in code stamp.
- Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
- Combination of high‑school diploma with QC experience and certifications will be considered.
- Proficient in MS‑based software including Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Proficient with QA/QC systems, platforms, and technologies that allow for tracking, metrics and reporting (e.g., Cx Alloy, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Project Sight, etc.).
- OSHA 10‑ or 30‑hour certification.
- Typical construction site demands, including some field travel.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. as necessary when performing duties.
- Work from heights (ladder access and usage).
- Work outside during all types of weather.
