Laboratory Technician – Motion Analysis Research Lab (MARL)
Laboratory Technician for the Motion Analysis Research Laboratory (MARL) at the Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Binghamton University, Johnson City, New York.
Responsibilities- Prepare laboratory hardware and materials for research subjects.
- Maintain, calibrate, and update laboratory equipment, conduct system checks, and arrange for servicing or repair as needed.
- Manage stock levels of consumables and keep inventory of remote monitoring devices.
- Deliver high-quality data collections and processing.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline and prior work experience related to biomechanical data capture.
- Knowledge of motion capture systems and associated software (Vicon preferred).
- Ability to learn new software quickly, troubleshoot data collection/computer‑related issues, and provide high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
- Competent in programming languages such as MATLAB and Python.
- Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
Research experience and practical knowledge of motion analysis principles are required, whether through prior internship, research studies, or work experience. The candidate must be flexible, highly organized, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Additionally, they must demonstrate knowledge of universal precautions and safety guidelines and be able to handle confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications- Master’s degree preferred.
