Position Summary
The Research Technician will collaborate with the PI and lab members to facilitate biochemical and biological experiments. Obtain, record, and evaluate experimental data. Prepare culture media, culture plates, reagents, solutions, cultures, and proteins. Review scientific literature to implement, improve, and troubleshoot research methods. Setup, maintain, and clean lab equipment. Perform general lab responsibilities including ordering and stocking lab supplies.
Minimum Education And Experience RequirementsDemonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Management Preferences- Critical thinking skills to analyze and interpret data
- Effective communication skills to present and discuss projects with others on the team
- Time management skills and ability to make progress on multiple projects
- Prior research experience in protein purification or bacterial cell culture
