- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service
- Accurately process sales transactions (cash, credit/debit, gift cards)
- Operate and maintain the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Handle returns and exchanges according to store policy
- Answer customer questions about plants, gardening supplies, and store promotions
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Replenish impulse items and assist with light merchandising
- Balance cash drawer and prepare end-of-day reports
- Assist with bagging and carrying items when needed
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle cash and operate POS systems
- Friendly, positive, and professional attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal retail environment
- Basic knowledge of plants and gardening products is an asset
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (bags of soil, plants, etc.)
