We are seeking a SaaS Overlay Sales Specialist to support the growth of an advanced predictive analytics and engagement intelligence offering. This role partners closely with Account Executives and Solution Engineers to drive complex sales opportunities by bringing deep product expertise, strategic market insight, and solution-oriented selling to the field.
As a Sales Specialist, you will not own the full sales cycle. Instead, you will co-sell alongside core sellers. Your job is to accelerate evaluations and help map how customers will incorporate their predictive analytics SaaS product into their technology ecosystem.
This role offers the opportunity to sit at the intersection of AI, product analytics, and strategic SaaS selling, while having an outside influence on some of customers’ most important and complex opportunities. You’ll help shape how their product is sold, understood, and adopted, both internally and by customers.
You Will:- Partner with Account Executives, Solution Engineers, and sales leadership to support deals involving their AI/ML Predictive Analytics SaaS solution.
- Act as a subject matter expert embedded in active opportunities, influencing outcomes without direct ownership of accounts.
- Align with Sales Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to ensure cohesive deal execution.
- Act as the SME and maintain your expertise in their product capabilities and use cases.
- Articulate product value and competitive positioning to technical and business stakeholders.
- Stay current on market trends, competitive solutions, and evolving customer needs in SaaS and digital product analytics.
- Lead discovery sessions to uncover complex customer challenges, data maturity levels, and business objectives.
- Design solutions that integrate their product within broader customer technology ecosystems.
- Translate customer needs into compelling solution narratives and use cases.
- Enable Account Executives through training, deal coaching, and continuous knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to sales assets, including playbooks, demo flows, ROI models, and objection-handling frameworks.
- Serve as a go-to expert for the product within the broader sales organization.
- Influence deals with qualification and messaging.
- Support and lead demos, workshops, and proof-of-value engagements.
- Contribute to business cases that align the product's capabilities to desired outcomes with customer business priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the account team and customers during evaluations, pilots, and early implementation discussions.
- Guide customers through complex technical and strategic considerations.
- Partner with post-sales teams to ensure smooth handoffs and long-term customer success.
- 5+ years of professional experience in Pre-Sales Engineering, as a Pre-Sales Specialist or an Overlay Sales role, where you act as an SME for a SaaS Product, working in tandem with an Account Executive, understanding client’s pain, doing discovery, product demos and serving as the primary point of contact for any questions that a prospective client may have about the capabilities of your solution.
- Strong technical aptitude with a deep understanding of SaaS, AI, analytics, and data-driven products.
- Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal/written/presentation), empathy for the client, solution development, and a passion for collaboration.
- Ability to influence outcomes without direct authority.
- Strong problem-solving and discovery skills.
- Hunter mentality with a customer-first, consultative approach.
