Position Overview

Transit and Level Clinic is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Representative to grow and support our customer base throughout Eastern North Carolina
.

This is a field-based sales and business development position focused on building relationships with surveying professionals, developing new accounts, supporting existing customers, and identifying opportunities throughout the territory.

Applicants must currently reside in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill (RDU Triangle) area and have professional experience in the surveying industry.

Candidates should have a working understanding of surveying workflows, terminology, equipment, and the needs of surveying professionals. The ideal candidate combines industry knowledge with strong communication skills, initiative, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities throughout Eastern North Carolina
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing TLC customers
  • Prospect and identify surveying firms, engineering companies, contractors, municipalities, utilities, and other potential customers
  • Conduct regular in-person customer visits and territory sales calls
  • Understand customer workflows and recommend appropriate surveying equipment, technology, accessories, and services
  • Demonstrate and discuss surveying solutions with customers
  • Generate leads and maintain an active sales pipeline
  • Prepare quotes and consistently follow up on sales opportunities
  • Work closely with TLC's technical, service, operations, and management teams to support customers
  • Participate in product demonstrations, training events, trade shows, conferences, and customer events
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and follow-up activities in the company's CRM
  • Stay current on surveying technology, TLC products, vendor solutions, and industry developments
  • Meet established sales and territory growth goals
  • Represent Transit and Level Clinic professionally throughout the territory
Required Qualifications
  • Must currently reside in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill (RDU Triangle) area
  • Professional experience in the surveying industry is required
  • Working knowledge of surveying practices, terminology, equipment, and field workflows
  • Familiarity with surveying equipment such as GNSS/GPS systems, robotic and manual total stations, data collectors, levels, and related field equipment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with surveyors, field crews, project managers, business owners, and other industry professionals
  • Self-motivated and comfortable managing a sales territory independently
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Willing and able to travel regularly throughout Eastern North Carolina
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to attend company events, trade shows, demonstrations, and training sessions as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous outside sales, business development, territory management, or account management experience
  • Experience selling or supporting surveying equipment or technology
  • Existing relationships within the surveying, engineering, or construction industries in Eastern North Carolina
  • Experience with modern surveying technologies, including GNSS, robotic total stations, data collection, reality capture, or related solutions
