Caton Construction GroupCorporate offices in Troy, VA, and Cary, NC, is growing! Currently seeking Heavy Equipment Operators for our bridge/roadway project in Catawba County, North Carolina (Hickory). We particularly seek QUALIFIED EXCAVATOR & DOZER OPERATORS.
STARTING PAY is competitive and based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities- Works with and assists in moving and grading dirt, digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a bulldozer, backhoe, road grader or front‑end loader.
- Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor.
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full‑time position. Normal work hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with time provided for lunch. Overtime and weekend work are frequent, and work may be local or out of town, requiring overnight stays.
Travel / DrivingTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of‑area and overnight travel may be expected. Driver’s license is required.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years’ experience involving the use of medium and heavy equipment.
Education and Experience
- Valid CDL License.
