Assist roofers and foremen with preparing job sites and covering roofs with materials such as metal, shingles, single‑ply systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM), slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, and related materials. May operate hand and power tools of all types.

• Travel: 60% travel, including weekends. Accommodations covered and per diem provided.
• Experience: General construction experience required; commercial roofing experience a plus.
• Driver's License: Not required but a plus.
• Must be self‑motivated, open‑minded, and able to accept constructive criticism.
• Knowledge of basic safety techniques and procedures.
• Attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines according to instructions.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute work assignments.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to work on a team.
• Ability to read and use tape measure, mark, or record distances.
• General basic knowledge of construction materials and tools involved in the construction or repair of structures.
• Ability to identify problems and communicate them to foreman, and resolve issues in a timely manner.

• Clean up debris from the roof surface and surrounding property.
• Assist with the installation of vapor barriers and/or layers of insulation on the roof decks.
• Cover exposed nail heads with roofing cement or caulking to prevent water leakage and rust.
• Assist with the installation of partially overlapping layers of material over roof insulation surfaces.
• Cover roofs and exterior walls of structures with metal, single‑ply systems, slate, asphalt, aluminum, wood, gravel, gypsum, and related materials, using brushes, knives, punches, hammers, and other tools.
• Operate vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment.
• Repair cracks, defects, or damage using proper materials.
• Apply adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.

• Standing for long periods of time.
• Climbing ladders, scaffolds, and stairways.
• Using arms and legs to climb, lift, balance, walk, and handle materials.
• Using abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously.
• Seeing details at close range.
• Engaging in repetitive movements, bending or twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, or crawling.
• Standing, walking, lifting, and carrying items weighing 50 pounds regularly.

• Working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, very hot (above 90°F) or very cold (below 32°F) temperatures, and in noisy environments.
• Exposure to contaminants, hazardous materials, or equipment.
• Safety procedures must be followed as mistakes have serious consequences.
• Exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings.
• Exposure to high places or dangerous conditions.
