2nd-Shift Mechanic

GFL Environmental is seeking a reliable 2nd-Shift Mechanic to maintain and repair a fleet of waste and recycling trucks at our City, ST facility. In this role, you'll perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems to keep essential services running safely and on schedule. You'll follow strict safety procedures, document all work, and partner with drivers and operations teams to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on fleet trucks and heavy equipment
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems
• Conduct scheduled PM services to reduce breakdowns and ensure fleet reliability
• Document all work performed in maintenance systems and complete work orders accurately
• Collaborate with drivers and operations to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime
• Follow all safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures during repair work
• Perform after-hours or emergency repairs as needed on 2nd shift
• Maintain tools, shop equipment, and a clean, safe work area
