Job Summary

Health Care Technician I (S) at Cherry Hospital, a state-of-the-art psychiatric hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Provides facilitative services and quality care for individuals with psychiatric and developmental conditions under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

• Provide ongoing observation, interaction, and feedback to individuals under RN supervision.
• Work with the interdisciplinary treatment team and provide input on each individual’s care and condition.
• Implement specific interventions identified in the individual’s comprehensive treatment plan.
• Maintain contact with individuals diagnosed with a wide spectrum of psychiatric and/or developmental conditions, including unpredictable behavior and aggression.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum education and experience equivalency as described: either years of education or directly related experience, or a combination.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Basic knowledge of psychiatric, intellectual disability, medical, and related conditions.
• Knowledge of dietetics, sanitation, and personal hygiene.
• Candidate must successfully pass all required parts of CPI’s Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention.
• Preferred:
  Nurse Aide I listing by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation.
• Shift availability for 8‑hour shifts, with premium rates for day, evening, and night shifts as listed.

• Recruitment Range: $31,200 – $44,261.
• Sign‑on bonus of up to $15,000, contingent on budget approval, with phased release ($4,000 first paycheck, $5,000 after 12 months, $6,000 after 18 months).
• Mandatory reporting or staying over during adverse weather events.
