Senior Security Engineer

Epic Games is looking for a Senior Security Engineer focused on Game Security to develop and improve anti‑cheat capabilities within our games. Your efforts will be critical to the success of Fortnite and the many creators who depend on it.

• Design and build new backend services or features that power Fortnite anti‑cheat or related security capabilities, and implement corresponding game code.
• Read, debug, and write code for Fortnite in C++ and associated backend services in Go.
• Proactively seek out vulnerable components in the Fortnite game client or backend, communicate the problem and recommended solution, and implement it when appropriate; influence others to maintain a security‑oriented mindset.
• Debug, modify, and optimize existing security systems for both the Fortnite game client and backend components.
• Ensure Fortnite is operating well for players and that our services are resilient at scale; assist in diagnosing and resolving live issues.

• BSc in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related subject – candidates without a degree are welcome as long as they have proven extensive hands‑on experience.
• Excellent knowledge and debugging skills in the C++ programming language.
• Fluency in Go, Java, C#, or similar programming language.
• Self‑starter who approaches challenges creatively and methodically, seeing them through to final resolution.
• Ability to code and architect system frameworks, new APIs, and tools; versed in software programming principles.
• Understanding of online multiplayer video game architectures.
• Technical understanding of the structure and technology stacks of online service backends.
