Senior Salesforce Developer

Contract to hire. Hybrid onsite;
Cary, NC or Cleveland, OH.

• The company has been on commercial Salesforce for ~2.5 years, supported by an integration partner. They recently made the decision to launch Salesforce Government Cloud for the aerospace business.
• There are two openings: one Senior Developer (ideally someone progressing toward an architect path) and one Mid-Level Developer.
• Current state: the implementation partner is migrating configurations from the commercial org into Gov Cloud. They are in UAT now, with GoLive next week through July.
• Future roadmap includes Sales Cloud onboarding in November.
• Gov Cloud operates on a different release cycle than commercial Salesforce. Not all features are likeforlike, and the team realized their existing commercial Salesforce resources cannot fully support both environments.

• Own and manage the Salesforce Government Cloud environment under the technical manager's oversight, following existing enhancement and release processes.
• Partner with the current team that handles administration and release scheduling; the new developers will focus on keeping Gov Cloud in sync with commercial where possible.
• Handle ad‑hoc development specific to aerospace business needs.
• Senior Developer: initially ~70% hands‑on development / 30% architecture; over time this will shift to ~70% architecture / 30% development.
• Both developers will work primarily in an isolated Gov Cloud environment, with occasional access to the main commercial org.

• Senior Developer: 7-10 years as a Salesforce Developer. Should have the aptitude to evolve into an Architect.
• Strong Government Cloud experience is required for the Senior role. Should have prior experience with either Sales, Service, and/or Manufacturing as well.
• Mid-Level Developer: 5+ years of Salesforce development experience; preferred experience with Government Cloud but commercial experience in Sales, Service, or Manufacturing Cloud is acceptable.
• Looking for developers, not administrators or architects. Must be hands‑on.
