Epic Games is looking for a Senior Technical Designer with a focus on weapon development to work on the future of an unannounced project. The ideal candidate has experience working on weapon systems and supporting a team of designers as an embedded technical designer in Unreal Engine 5.

• Work closely with the design, animation, and engineering teams to establish and improve weapon systems.
• Act as an embedded technical designer on the weapons team to help define and drive the quality bar of new features.
• Build and maintain weapon systems using Blueprint to help support a fun and unique gameplay experience.
• Collaborate with other technical designers and engineers to ensure high-quality and reliable systems are being used across the game.
• Actively participate in critiques, offer solutions, and push for the best possible outcomes.

• Experience working on weapon systems in the games industry.
• Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5, specifically with Blueprint or other visual scripting languages.
• A strong understanding of technical design and how it relates to game design.
• Comfort working on new IP and adapting to changing requirements.
• A proactive problem-solver with strong debugging skills and attention to detail.
• Experience collaborating with cross-discipline teams to achieve high-quality results.
• Someone who is a strong communicator and able to clearly articulate complex ideas.
