Job Summary
Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, LLC office in Durham, NC. Design and develop server‑side logic and modular software components for enterprise IT automation using the Python programming language and Django web framework. Implement core backend functionality, including data models, views, and middleware.
Responsibilities- Design and develop server‑side logic and modular software components for enterprise IT automation using Python and Django.
- Implement core backend functionality, including data models, views, and middleware.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using the Django REST Framework (DRF) to facilitate seamless communication between automation tools and enterprise IT systems.
- Create and optimize scripts and workflows to automate routine IT tasks, such as server provisioning, configuration management, and system monitoring, to improve operational efficiency.
- Write and execute unit tests and integration tests using Python testing frameworks (e.g., PyTest or Unit Test) to ensure code reliability and adherence to functional specifications.
- Participate in Agile development cycles and code reviews.
- Maintain technical documentation for API endpoints, system architecture, and automation workflows for internal engineering use.
- Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Working knowledge of writing and maintaining code, specifically for developing test cases and automated solutions.
- Proficient with command‑line interfaces and managing files within Linux or UNIX environments.
- Experience using Git or similar tools for version control, branching, and code collaboration.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated test suites or infrastructure pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile ceremonies, including sprints and stand‑ups.
- Ability to identify, document, and investigate internal software bugs.
- Experience documenting technical progress and system requirements within a collaborative development environment via pull‑request submissions and established acceptance criteria.
The salary range for this position is $94,182 – $122,890 per year. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
