About the job

The SAS/ACCESS team looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test. This team provides data access to different data sources so our customers can make better decisions faster. These interfaces are out-of-the-box solutions that provide enterprise data access and integration between SAS and third-party databases. SAS/ACCESS interfaces enable SAS solutions to read, write, and update data no matter what native databases or platforms are being used.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will:

  • Create and maintain high quality test automation using modern development techniques and provide data points to support metrics-based decision making.
  • Work collaboratively with development, testing, product, operations, and support peers across the SAS9 Division to encourage quality, as a key design element in all work efforts.
  • Deploy and support robust SAS 9.4 test environments.
  • Analyze test results and recommend corrective action where necessary.
  • Identify and clearly report reproducible defects and verify resolutions.
  • Collaborate with our Project Management team to ensure proper tracking and compliance.
  • Protect users from escaped defects, participate in support escalations, and value Customer Experience (CX) above all.
  • Stay informed of emerging technologies and use them appropriately.
  • Support internal and external customers.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • A minimum of 5years experience in software testing on large software projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills coupled with excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong data base proficiency (multiple preferred, SQL, No

    SQL,etc).
  • C programming skills and/or SAS coding experience.
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows and UNIX.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (eg.Python).
  • Working experience with CI/CD tooling(eg.Jenkins).
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience using CVS, Gerrit, Git, or Git Hub for source code management and code review.
  • Familiar in state-of-the-art techniques, standards, and procedures for software test development.
  • Demonstrated ability to author, maintain and execute tests as part of a test automation framework.
  • Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
