Route Sales Representative

Responsible for selling and merchandising a line of high-quality products at local stores. Drives a Smithfield Foods box truck and works Monday‑Friday, 50‑55 hours per week with occasional Saturday or holiday shifts.

• Quote prices and credit terms, prepare sales invoices for customer orders.
• Deliver products, stock retail cases, rotate inventory.
• Prepare end‑of‑day reports of business transactions and report unresolved issues or opportunities to local management.
• Maintain daily Department of Transportation logs and submit required reports.
• Maintain daily truck inventory, conduct weekly physical inventory, and report variances.
• Travel to assigned locations, use equipment (carts, pallets, etc.) to unload products, and move products throughout the store.
• Rotate products, remove defective, out‑of‑date items, and process returns and credits with receivers.

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Minimum 6 months of experience in route sales, grocery, warehousing, or delivery (required).
• Valid Driver's License (required); CDL‑B Driver’s License required within 90 days of start date.
• Minimum age 21 as required by federal regulations.
• Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to work well with others in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Respectful, approachable, and team‑oriented with strong working relationships.

Work is physically demanding and may require repetitive overhead lifting up to 30lb, single lifting up to 60lb, or lifting with mechanical assistance. Work may require use of all body parts and muscle groups.
