- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pipe Superintendent in heavy civil construction
- Proven experience managing underground utility projects including water, sewer, storm drain, and force main installation
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project schedules
- Strong Leadership Skills With Experience Supervising Field Crews, subcontractors, and equipment resources
- Thorough knowledge of excavation, trench safety, shoring systems, and OSHA regulations
- Experience coordinating daily work activities to meet production, quality, and safety goals
- Ability to identify and resolve field conflicts while maintaining project schedules
- Experience working with inspectors, owners, engineers, and utility representatives
- Strong understanding of grades, utility layout, and underground construction methods
- Ability to manage labor, equipment, and material resources efficiently
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred

- Review project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Coordinate work with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Plan labor, equipment, and material needs.
- Direct and supervise pipe crews and equipment operators.
- Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards.
- Monitor daily production and resolve field issues.
- Enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
- Ensure proper trench safety, shoring, and excavation practices.
- Investigate and report incidents.
- Verify pipe installation meets grade, alignment, and elevation requirements.
- Ensure proper bedding, backfill, compaction, and testing procedures.
- Coordinate inspections and testing with governing agencies.
- Develop and maintain daily and weekly work schedules.
- Monitor crew productivity and adjust resources as needed.
- Minimize delays and maintain project milestones.
- Coordinate delivery and storage of materials.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and utilized efficiently.
- Track inventory and prevent material shortages.
- Coordinate with utility owners for locating and protecting existing underground utilities.
- Ensure compliance with utility conflict resolutions and permit requirements.
- Complete daily reports, production logs, and equipment records.
- Document changes, delays, and field conditions.
- Communicate project progress to management.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members.
- Promote teamwork and accountability.
- Resolve employee concerns and performance issues.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain environmental compliance, erosion control, and permit requirements.
