The job of Education Specialist – Library Media is to organize and maintain the daily operation of the media center; assist in maintaining the library collection at the school site by implementing age‑appropriate programs for students utilizing library resources; select appropriate items in support of classroom instruction; and instruct students on the proper use of library resources.

Responsibilities include:

• Checking in, checking out, and re‑shelving books and other library materials and audio‑visual equipment.
• Conducting classes in a variety of formats.
• Coordinating media requests of individual sites.
• Distributing books and media.
• Instructing students on proper library use.
• Maintaining the library in a neat and orderly fashion.
• Monitoring students in the library to ensure safety and welfare.
• Ensuring the timely return of instructional materials.
• Serving as liaison with teachers and parents.
• Performing minor repairs on books and audio‑visual equipment.
• Processing orders for books, periodicals, films, etc.
• Promoting library use related to special holidays and seasonal activities.
• Providing support to teachers, students, and other personnel.
• Managing library resources using the district’s interlibrary loan process.
• Assisting other personnel as required.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pre‑employment proficiency test.
• Criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.

Experience desired.

Position: 10‑month school‑year, full‑time. Salary: $16.96 per hour.

School Year: 2026‑2027.
