Education Assistant – Crossing Guard

Location:

Cottonwood Elementary School – Casa Grande, Arizona

Purpose:

Improve students' success in basic academics, relieve teachers of clerical tasks, monitor students across various settings, and perform crossing guard duties before and after school.

• Administers tests
• Implements instructional programs and lesson plans (reading, math, language, comprehension, writing, computer, etc.)
• Instructs students individually or in small groups (reading, math, spelling, self‑esteem, behavioral skills, daily living skills, etc.)
• Maintains classroom equipment, work area, student files/records (clean up after class projects, enter grades, adapt instructional materials, audiovisual equipment, etc.)
• Monitors students during assigned periods in various school environments (classrooms, restrooms, hallways, cafeteria, labs, field trips, etc.)
• Participates in in‑service workshops and training
• Performs duties of Crossing Guard as assigned
• Performs record‑keeping and clerical functions (scheduling, copying, preparing instructional materials, correcting papers, compiling lists, etc.)
• Picks up and/or delivers homework/assignments to students at home
• Responds to emergency situations (injured student, fights, etc.)
• Assists other personnel as required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pre‑employment proficiency test
• Criminal Justice/fingerprint clearance

Full Time with Benefits, School Year Schedule, Experience desired.

This is a 10 month School Year position only.

Salary: $16.11 per hour
