The job of Education Specialist
- Inclusive Education is done for the purpose of improving special education students' success in the basic academics; relieving teachers of clerical tasks; and assisting students with special health care needs.

• Adapt classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the teacher
• Administer tests
• Assist special education students requiring daily care, e.g., toileting, feeding, etc.
• Attend Individual Education Program meetings with assigned student(s)
• Confer with teachers and/or parents as may be required
• Implement instructional programs and lesson plans, e.g., reading, math, language, comprehension, writing, computer, etc.
• Instruct students (individual or small groups), e.g., reading, spelling, self‑esteem, behavioral skills, daily living skills, etc.
• Maintain classroom equipment, work areas, student files/records, e.g., clean up after various class projects, entering grades, adapting instructional materials, audiovisual equipment, etc.
• Monitor and assist special education students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments, e.g., classrooms, rest rooms, hallways, cafeteria, labs, field trips, on/off buses, etc.
• Participate in in‑service workshops and training
• Perform record keeping and clerical functions, e.g., scheduling, copying, instructional materials, correcting papers, compiling lists, etc.
• Picks up and/or delivers homework/assignments to students at home
• Provide documentation of students' work
• Respond to emergency situations, e.g., injured students, fights, etc.
• Assist other personnel as may be required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Pre‑employment proficiency test
• Criminal Justice/fingerprint clearance
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English

This is a 10 month School Year position only.
