Position Summary
The Preteen Director influences the direction and implementation of the Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC) vision at assigned campus. This position provides leadership to the Preteen Ministry Team, ministry to 5th and 6th graders and their families, and oversight of campus Preteen administrative functions. In all actions, reflects the Sun Valley Community Church (SVCC) team leadership distinctives.
This is a part-time position at appox 20 hours per week.
Essential Functions- Serve on assigned campus influencing the direction and implementation of Preteen ministries
- Provide oversight for the campus Preteen ministry budgeting, staffing, and ministry initiatives
- Build intentional ministry strategies and environments to help Preteens meet, know and follow Jesus
- Equip and empower Preteen staff and volunteers to lead the Preteen ministries through creating a culture of recruitment, development, training and reproduction. Lead with and through a team
- Build relational sticky ministry where Preteens relationally connect with other 5th and 6th graders and volunteers and where Preteens feel safe, are known and relationally pursued in a healthy manner
- Expand the reach of SV Preteens through local schools and community activities
- Relate to and coordinate with the Next Gen team regarding content, ministry practice consistency, communication, and coaching
- Partner with parents through providing resources, training, and intentional experiences, to equip parents to be the spiritual leaders of their families

May directly supervise other Preteen staff positions (Coordinator, Assistant). Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; approving time records and time off requests; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
