Our Supplier Industrialization team enables the successful launch of innovative vehicle programs through the industrialization of complex wiring harness systems across a global supplier network. In this highly visible role, the Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and suppliers to develop robust manufacturing processes that meet aggressive program timelines while ensuring quality, capacity, and operational readiness.

The Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer is responsible for driving supplier manufacturing readiness from sourcing through SOP, supporting new product introductions, process validation, launch activities, and supplier performance improvement initiatives. In this role you will:

  • Lead supplier industrialization activities for assigned wiring harness suppliers, ensuring manufacturing readiness, quality performance, capacity planning, and successful launch execution.
  • Drive APQP, PPAP, process validation, manufacturing audits, and supplier development activities while supporting continuous improvement and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues, improve manufacturability, and ensure compliance with product and process requirements.
  • Support supplier issue resolution, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and production launch activities to enable flawless execution and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, supplier industrialization, or related disciplines.
  • 3+ years of direct experience supporting wiring harnesses, HV cables, power distribution systems, electromechanical assemblies, or similar automotive components.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and AIAG Core Tools.
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA requirements, ISO standards, and applicable USCAR specifications.
  • Experience conducting supplier process audits, manufacturing assessments, and launch readiness reviews.
  • Knowledge of wiring harness manufacturing processes, including crimping, splicing, assembly, routing, electrical testing, and validation methods.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action experience.

    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Strong planning and prioritization skills.
  • Experience leading technical organizations, mentoring engineers, and developing engineering standards.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
