The Production Department Manager provides leadership and operational oversight across manufacturing teams, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production execution. This role is responsible for developing frontline leadership, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and delivering strong operational performance through effective cost management, process optimization, and performance monitoring. The position partners cross-functionally to maintain quality standards, enhance productivity, and support a culture of accountability and engagement.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development- Lead, coach, and develop Front Line Leaders across multiple shifts to ensure consistent execution and strong team engagement.
- Oversee staffing, training, succession planning, and performance management for production teams.
- Align teams around operational priorities, performance goals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive financial and operational results through budget management, cost control, and performance tracking.
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics including OEE, labor efficiency, downtime, units per hour, CIP effectiveness, and material utilization.
- Develop and execute action plans to improve line performance using Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Support project planning and execution initiatives that enhance manufacturing capability.
- Ensure adherence to company quality systems, regulatory requirements, and established manufacturing standards.
- Champion product quality, process control, and compliance initiatives across the department.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operator ownership in performance and cost management.
- Foster a high-performance environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner effectively with cross-functional teams to support plant and business objectives.
- Encourage employee engagement and participation in operational improvement efforts.
