The Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Fresh Start Café workforce training program while supporting individuals in early recovery as they develop the skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment. The position combines program coordination, participant coaching, workforce‑readiness training, and café operations management to provide meaningful work experience and skill‑development opportunities. The Program Coordinator helps create a supportive learning environment where participants gain practical job skills, workplace confidence, financial literacy, and employment readiness.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Recruit, support and supervise staff members working in the Fresh Start Café workforce development program.
- Train employees in proper food safety, kitchen safety, cash handling, POS systems, customer service, cleaning and maintenance responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain individualized participant goals and training plans providing instruction and coaching in workplace readiness skills.
- Monitor participant progress, provide ongoing feedback and coordinate participant transitions into competitive employment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local employers willing to hire individuals in recovery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for participants, staff and customers.
- Develop and maintain records, training documentation, and procedures for programs.
- Promote the mission of the 12-24 Club and Fresh Start Café, participating in community outreach and collaborating with community partners.
- Oversee Fresh Start Café daily operations, including food cost and revenue.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in food service, workforce development, customer service, recovery support services, social services, or a related field.
- Experience supervising employees, volunteers, or program participants.
- Personal experience with recovery.
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of ethics, integrity, diplomacy and initiative.
