6 positions available

A typical day involves greeting guests, selling pool admissions, handling cash or card transactions, preparing and selling concession snacks and drinks, cleaning the counter area, and answering guest questions.

It’s a fun, social job—great for people who enjoy working outdoors, interacting with the public, and being part of a team.

The ideal candidates are friendly, dependable, good with money, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a busy, sometimes noisy environment. Basic math skills and customer service experience are a plus.

Reporting Structure

Receives direct supervision from higher level supervisory and management staff.

Responsibilities
  • Provides front line customer service needs at a facility entrance.
  • Collects admission fees, pre-packaged food purchases, and/or retail items and maintains related records to follow City policies and procedures relating to accounts receivable tasks.
  • Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and there is adequate change available.
  • Stocks supplies such as food or retail sales inventory in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintains clean and orderly cashier station and performs basic routine cleaning tasks.
  • Provides general customer service and communication with the public regarding safety, policies, rules, and general information about the facility or event.
  • Represents the City of Casper by responding to the public, citizens, its employees, and others in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner while continuously maintaining a positive customer service demeanor.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Knowledge (position requirements at entry)
    • Basic customer service principles.
    • Basic mathematical calculations.
    Abilities (position requirements at entry)
    • Work a variety of shifts including weekends and holidays.
    • Learn cashiering methods and procedures.
    • Learn cash register operation.
    • Routinely demonstrate the City of Casper core values.
    • Follow all City safety rules and procedures and reports all accidents/incidents immediately to supervisor.
    • Facilitate visitor and customer traffic to their appropriate destination.
    • Encourage safety protocols to all visitors and customers.
    • Respond to inquiries, complaints, and requests.
    • Maintain attention to detail in a work situation with frequent interruptions.
    • Handle multiple customers at the same time.
    • Learn general layout of facility to provide assistance to visitors and customers.
    • Organize and/or prioritize to be efficient and effective with multiple tasks.
    • Operate modern office equipment, software, and operating systems/applications.
    • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.
    • Communicate effectively.
    • Follow written and verbal instructions and direction.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
    Skills (position requirements at entry)
    • Basic mathematical calculations.
    • Operating in a courteous, knowledgeable, and tactful manner with customers, staff, and general public.
    • Oral communication sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
    Education and Experience
    • No previous training or experience required.
    • First Aid/CPR, preferred.
    • Must be at least 15 years of age.
    • Must be at least 16 years of age to perform food service preparation.

    None.

    Physical and Environmental Conditions

    Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

    Sedentary Work:
    Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
