Purpose Statement

The job of CLASSROOM TEACHER is to provide support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators to address instructional and classroom issues; and responding to inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

This job reports to the Principal.

• Collaborate with all stakeholders to establish and maintain leadership and positive relationships while focusing on high expectations and continuous improvement for student learning.
• Design instruction to engage and involve all students in learning objectives.
• Develop and guide learning in partnership with students to ensure continuous improvement in alignment with state and district standards.
• Evaluate student and class performance, adjusting instruction to improve performance.
• Implement current best practice instruction and resources to improve student learning.
• Maintain documentation and reports to comply with site, district, policy, administrative, state and federal statutes.
• Manage classroom structure and procedures to establish a positive, safe, orderly learning environment.
• Model positive behaviors to promote appropriate social and interpersonal conduct.
• Oversee assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers to support classroom operations.
• Participate in meetings to convey and gather information for performance.
• Respond to emergency situations to resolve safety concerns and direct to appropriate personnel.

• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.

• Bachelor's degree in a job‑related field.

• Current Wyoming teacher certification, endorsed in the required content area.

Position Type: Full‑Time |
Salary: $54,100 to $89,852 per year
