Salary: $16.91 to $21.42 per hour (pending Board approval in July 2026)

Job Description – Cafeteria TechnicianThe Cafeteria Technician is responsible for preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition. This role reports to the Building Cafeteria Manager or Building Food Services Manager.
Essential Functions- Arrange setup for food items, supplies, serving lines, and/or equipment to ensure compliance with cafeteria requirements.
- Clean utensils, equipment, and storage, food preparation and serving areas (e.g., ovens, steamers, fryers, mixers, slicers, freezers, dishes, tableware, kitchen utensils, counters, carts, racks, and dishwashing machine) to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Collect payments on accounts to secure funds for reimbursement of costs. Evaluate prepared food for flavor, appearance, and temperature to ensure acceptance by students and/or staff.
- Inspect food items and/or supplies for quality, quantity, and compliance with mandated health standards.
- Inventory food, condiments, and supplies to ensure availability.
- Monitor students’ food choices to meet mandated requirements and ensure adequate nutrition. Prepare and serve food and beverage items accordingly.
- Report equipment malfunctions to maintain equipment in safe working order. Respond to inquiries from students, staff, and/or parents regarding meal types and costs.
- Serve one or more food items to meet mandated nutritional requirements or student requests.
- Stock food, condiments, and supplies to maintain adequate quantities and security.

Job Description – Education Support PersonnelThe Education Support Personnel assists in monitoring and instructing students under the supervision of certified staff, including instruction of behavioral and social skills (BEST) or functional life skills (FLS) for special education students; observing and documenting student progress; and assisting with implementation of instructional plans and special health care needs. This role reports to the Principal.
Essential Functions- Adapt classroom activities, assignments, or materials under the direction of certified staff to provide opportunities for all students, including those with functional limitations.
- Assist special education students with classroom and daily living skills (e.g., toileting, diapering, tube feeding) to support positive plans of action and functional participation.
- Assist certified staff with implementation and supervision of instructional activities (e.g., individual or small group instruction in academic subjects, social/behavioral skills, daily living skills) to reinforce learning objectives.
- Communicate with stakeholders (teachers, students, parents, district personnel, community agencies) as directed by certified staff to provide information related to student progress.
- Maintain instructional materials and student files/records (e.g., incident and activity reports, discipline records, instructional materials) to document activities and provide reliable information.
- Monitor students in various settings (e.g., restrooms, playgrounds, hallways, library, cafeteria, bus stops, study hall, locker rooms, classrooms, field trips, assemblies) to model appropriate behavior and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Provide positive reinforcement to students to support meeting individual plan objectives and school-wide discipline plans.
- Respond to emergency situations and potential conflicts with students to de-escalate behaviors, model positive behaviors, and ensure safety.
- Transport students, as requested, to assigned locations to ensure safe arrival.
