NCSD accepts previous accredited public school teaching and administrator experience towards movement on the certified teacher salary schedule, which includes all verified and approved years in Wyoming and up to 5 verified and approved years out of state.

Purpose StatementThe job of CLASSROOM TEACHER is to provide support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.
This job reports to the Principal.
Essential Functions- Collaborates with all stakeholders (students, parents, colleagues, etc.) to establish and maintain leadership and positive relationships while focusing on high expectations and continuous improvement for student learning.
- Designs instruction (lesson plans, individualized instruction, diverse learning styles/needs, etc.) to ensure all students are engaged and participating in individual and classroom learning objectives.
- Develops and guides learning in partnership with students (classroom mission and learning goals, strategies and processes, student recognition and celebrations, etc.) to ensure continuous improvement for student learning in alignment with state and district standards.
- Evaluates individual student and class performance (analysis of assessment data, other comparative data, etc.) to gauge and subsequently adjust instruction to improve individual and class performance.
- Implements current best practice instruction and resources (focus on student needs/goals, classroom priorities, etc.) to improve and enhance student learning in alignment with state and district standards.
- Maintains documentation and required reports (student data and reports, personal teaching certification, etc.) to comply with site, district, policy, administrative, state and/or federal statutes and regulations.
- Manages classroom structure and procedures (activities, behavioral expectations, positive classroom culture, etc.) to establish a positive, safe and orderly learning environment that supports students in achieving classroom and individual goals.
- Models positive behaviors (professional/ethical public image, relational skills including appropriate verbal and written communications, manners, honors diversity and mutual respect, etc.) to promote appropriate social and interpersonal behavior in alignment with district goals.
- Oversees assistant teachers, student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers and/or student workers to ensure an effective and efficient classroom structure that supports the teacher and students.
- Participates in a variety of meetings (team and/or building meetings, professional growth opportunities, parent/teacher conferences, etc.) to convey and/or gather information to perform functions.
- Responds to emergency situations (building emergency protocol, fights, suspected child abuse and/or substance abuse, etc.) to resolve immediate safety concerns and/or direct to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Bachelor’s degree in a job-related field.
Certificates & LicensureCurrent Wyoming teacher certification, endorsed in content area as required per certification.
Position Type: Full‑time
Salary: $56,600 to $92,352 per year
