VA Work-Study Student – Veteran Benefits Outreach & Digital Engagement
Work Mode: Remote (Primary) with occasional local in-person veteran outreach events
Job Location: Bakersfield, CA (Remote Eligible – Must be local for events)
Compensation: Paid through the VA Work-Study Allowance Program Hourly rate determined by Federal or California minimum wage (whichever is greater)
Position Overview: Talent Base is seeking a qualified student veteran participating in the VA Work-Study Program to support veteran benefits outreach and digital engagement efforts.
This role is focused on disseminating general information about VA education benefits and veteran services and assisting veterans in understanding how to access official VA resources.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and publish informational content explaining VA education benefits and veteran services
- Respond to general veteran inquiries by providing resource links and referral guidance
- Assist in preparation and support of veteran outreach events
- Track engagement metrics and document frequently asked veteran questions
- Perform administrative tasks directly related to veteran benefits outreach
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be eligible for the VA Work-Study Allowance Program
- Enrolled at ¾ training time or greater
- Professional and reliable
- Able to work independently in a remote setting
- Local to Bakersfield area for occasional outreach events
- Familiarity with GI Bill or VR&E
- Interest in veteran services or workforce development
