Adjunct Spanish Instructor
Casper College is seeking applicants for the position of Adjunct Spanish instructor. This position will teach courses within the World Languages curriculum for the School of Fine Arts & Humanities. The successful applicant will be available to teach day and/or evening classes. This is a part-time position.
Responsibilities:
Basic responsibilities of Adjunct Faculty are to review and distribute course syllabi to each class, follow standard course design designated by the Dean or School, arrange for the acquisition and preparation of appropriate materials and equipment necessary to meet course objectives, and basic reporting duties including grade reports, etc. The Adjunct Faculty member is evaluated by students, the dean and department, and the college administration.
This position reports to the Dean of Fine Arts & Humanities.
- Teach designated course(s).
- Prepare syllabi and schedules for each course.
- Develop lesson plans.
- Procure appropriate materials needed for course instruction.
- Reporting duties including student grade data.
- Utilize active learning strategies to assist the learner in meeting the course objectives.
- Participate in all required meetings and events as requested by the department or administration.
- Be available to students for questions and assistance with coursework.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Spanish, or a Master's Degree in a closely related field (e.g., linguistics or second language acquisition) with eighteen (18) graduate hours in Spanish
- Ability to speak Spanish at an advanced or superior level

Work Environment:
Typical work environment is a classroom, computer lab and/or office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Occasional site visits, where extra safety precautions will be required. Work is usually performed during the normal workday; however, occasional early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors travelling between campus buildings in various weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
Employee must be able to stand for long periods of time, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computer, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. Specific vision requirements are close up with the ability to adjust focus. Noise levels are minimal to moderate.
