Ur-Energy is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Permitting Manager to lead regulatory permitting efforts for our ISR uranium mining operations. In this role, you’ll help guide projects from early-stage permitting through ongoing operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations while partnering closely with internal technical teams.
What You’ll Do- Prepare, compile, and submit permitting applications, environmental analyses, and technical reports to state and federal agencies
- Lead permitting strategy and ensure all submittals are accurate, consistent, and defensible
- Serve as a primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and maintain strong working relationships
- Translate company objectives into clear permitting plans and coordinated schedules
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance across operations
- Partner with geology, engineering, operations, and EHS teams to meet permitting requirements
- Advise project teams on timelines, risks, and regulatory constraints
- Conduct site inspections, identify compliance issues, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain organized records related to permitting, inspections, and compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in permitting, environmental compliance, or regulatory roles
- Strong knowledge of NRC, EPA, and applicable state regulations (ISR mining experience preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly
- Proven project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable record
- Advanced degree in a related discipline
- Uranium or mining industry experience
- Experience with groundwater compliance or radioactive materials
This role includes a mix of office and field work, including site visits and inspections. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and performing moderate physical activity.
