Associate Engineer

Ideal Candidates Have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, engineering principles, and construction practices
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- For Associate Engineer II: 3+ years of experience and PE license preferred

Incumbents are responsible for providing entry-level professional engineering support to public improvement projects. Receives general guidance from the City Engineer and higher-level management staff.
Typical Class Essential Duties:

Knowledge of:
Civil engineering principles, practices, and standards. Constructions materials, principles, and practices. Mathematical principles. AutoCAD, computers and related software applications. Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
Abilities (position requirements at entry):
Ability to:
Perform mathematical calculations. Operate modern office equipment, software, and operating systems/applications. Routinely demonstrate the City of Casper core values Learn, interpret, and explain City policies and procedures. Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals. Prepare and present clear and concise reports. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Follow written and verbal instructions and direction.
Follow applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations. Maintain a neat and professional appearance. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Follow all City safety rules and procedures and immediately report all accidents/incidents or unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
