Summary
The position of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Clinical Adjunct Instructor assists with courses in the EMS Program for the School of Health Science and assists with various departmental duties in accordance with departmental objectives. This is a part‑time, non‑benefited position.
ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate and teach patient care in classroom and lab/scenarios to students and instruct students in principles and application of all aspects and subjects related to Paramedic Technology.
Support and assist students, supervise work, issue and assess assignments, and direct laboratory- and scenario-based activities.
Supervise students and demonstrate exemplary patient care in clinical and simulation environments.
Prepare, clean, and reset classrooms, labs, simulations, apartment, and ambulance areas for each session; wipe whiteboards, arrange furniture, and dispose of garbage.
Set up and sanitize mannequins, equipment, and teaching tools; return all items to designated locations.
Power down and charge all iSIMULATE devices (e.g., AURis stethoscope, iPads, battery packs).
Report equipment issues or damages to the Department Head or Clinical Coordinator via email.
Prepare and administer examinations, evaluate student progress, and maintain records of student clinical experience.
Maintain significant responsibility for others’ health, safety, and the outcomes of their work.
Complete accreditation activities as needed for the program.
Cooperate with medical and clinical personnel in evaluating and improving teaching and laboratory practices.
Comply with all HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.
Maintain clinical compliance.
May substitute traditional classes for faculty at Casper College.
Candidates are required to have Wyoming EMS Licensure and can only assist with Labs/Lecture at their level of training or lower.
Physical abilities to meet the demands of the position.
Must be eligible for hire at any Casper College Program clinical settings.
Must be able to pass a background check and meet immunization requirements.
Associate of Science degree from an accredited institution.
NAEMSE Instructor Level 1 preferred or ability to attend course within 1 year – paid by the Candidate.
Teaching experience preferred.
At least two years’ experience working in the field of EMS.
Knowledge or interest in acquiring knowledge about methodology for traditional and alternative instruction and the application of technologies.
Experience with online or distance learning.
Experience with management in healthcare.
Work is primarily performed in a clinical, laboratory, simulation center and/or classroom setting. Work is usually performed during the normal workday; however, early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions. Travel to clinical sites is required. Due to clinical settings, this position may experience exposure to diseases and infections.

Casper College Health Science programs utilize a variety of health care agencies in the community for clinical experience for the students. If you have been employed in one or more of the agencies and are not eligible for rehire as an employee, the agency may not permit you to participate in the essential clinical component of the program. Persons to whom this applies may be ineligible for hire.
Demands
Employees must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time; speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computers; feel, and reach with hands and arms; and transfer patients. Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. Work requires providing assistance or personal care to others, handling and moving objects, and other general physical activities.
